A Wallflower

Wallflower. Have you heard it? Wallflower is someone or something with an introverted personality type (or in more extreme cases, social anxiety) who will attend parties and social gatherings, but will usually limit themselves to standing away from the crowd and simply acting as an onlooker. Usually in party, wallflowers will literally stand against a wall and simply watch the crowd. Even though if there are some people who come to them and start a conversation, they will cut the conversation quickly because they don't want people aware that they are there. Wallflowers also will turn down any attention. This can be caused by anxiety, lack of social skills, or another mental conflicts. But honestly, you will rarely find a wallflower at parties because they rather be at home than at crowded place. However, staying at home all day or all week doesn't make you a wallflower. There are ways to detect whether you are a wallflower or not. A wallflower usually a daydreamer who loves being alone. They wear mostly black, but I am not saying that if your closet full of black outfit make you a wallflower. Nowadays black is one of the coolest colour beside white, so what I mean black is a colour that doesn't draw attention too much like neon colour. Then a wallflower don't do dancing and small talk. They hate that because they think it will draw too much attention to them. So, are you a wallflower? If you are not a wallflower then congratulations. But if you are a wallflower then you should read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, a book written by Stephen Chbosky. It's about a boy named Charlie who is a wallflower. Or maybe you can just watch the movie. The title is the same, The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

  1. What should I do? I think I'm a wallflower! But just kidding, haha. From your article, I think wallflowers are only scared when someone approached them. Because sometimes in a party, people can be too wild :D Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hahaha... Yes, some of them may have mental conflict.
Ohh, I agree with you, especially unformal party. But wallflowers are not only scared of wild people at the party. They are scared of everyone
